As part of the promotion for The Shadow Saint, I wrote up a self-contained one-shot roleplaying game. A handful of printed copies were sent out with some of the Advanced Reader Copies that went to reviewers; a pdf version can be downloaded here.
It’s designed to be an introduction to roleplaying games for those who are vaguely familiar with the concept of rpgs, but haven’t played. It’s got four ready-to-play characters and a prewritten scenario to get you started.
Roleplaying games are wonderful, ephemeral things. Even newfangled things like Critical Role or multiplayer computer games can give a taste of the fun, but there’s no substitute for the experience of diving in and shaping a collaborative, chaotic story with your friends.
